Vani Jayaram, a famous singer who sang more than 10,000 songs in 19 languages, including the immensely popular Hindi song "Bole re papihara," passed away on Saturday.
According to police, she was 77 years old and living on her own in a downtown apartment when she was found dead.
According to the singer's domestic help, Vani Jayaram's husband died before her, and she did not have any children.
According to the singer's maid, she showed up to work on Saturday as usual. She told reporters here, however, that despite repeatedly pressing the calling bell, she received no response.
She stated that she immediately notified the singer's relatives, who informed the police.
She claimed that police broke open the door and discovered Vani Jayaram dead in the presence of her relatives.
Malarkodi, who has been a maid at the singer's house for ten years, said that police found a wound on Vani Jayaram's forehead. She may have injured herself after falling, according to the police.
The worker responded that she was fine when asked if she had any health issues.
"She was busy welcoming visitors and well-wishers to congratulate her on receiving the Padma Bhushan award. She answered the phone, thanked everyone who had greeted her, and the phone kept ringing incessantly. The woman stated, "She lived by herself."
